The Shaykh explained Surat al-Baqarah and pointed out its numerous merits, such as the fact that it expels devils and protects against evils and it relates the stories of the past nations and includes matters related to dealings among people. It also contains the greatest verse in the Book of Allah, namely the Verse of al-Kursi, which has countless merits. The Shaykh’s Tafsīr clarifies the meanings of the verses in a simple and clear way and mentions the lessons derived therefrom in a superb manner rarely seen in any other Tafsīr. The derived lessons touch upon different branches of knowledge. The Tafsīr of this Surah was given by the Shaykh (may Allah have mercy upon him) during the night time lessons that he used to give at his mosque in ‘Unayzah.
