Mustalah al-Hadīth

This book was authored by the Shaykh in 1396 AH, and it comprises the key elements of Hadīth terminology, presented in a simple and easy manner for the beginners in knowledge-seeking. The book contains academic and methodical rules for understanding the science of Hadīth and making it easy for its seekers. Those who refer to the Sunnah as a proof need to consider two things: First: They should look into whether a certain text is authentically attributed to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him), for not all reports attributed to him are authentic. Second: They should consider how the text indicates the ruling. For the first consideration, rules were needed to help distinguish between what to accept and what to reject from those reports attributed to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). This book has been part of the academic curriculum for the first and second grades of high school in the academic institutes.
